How should WWE handle a Kazuchika Okada debut?

The rumor mill is on high alert now that Kazuchika Okada has officially departed from New Japan Pro Wrestling, but we don't yet know where the former NJPW cornerstone will land. There's certainly a very real chance he'll go to AEW, and he wouldn't be the first NJPW star to make that decision. On the other hand, there's an equally likely reality where he might wind up in WWE. As much as that would've seemed truly impossible just a few months or years ago, Kazuchika Okada is free to sign where he pleases after January 31, 2024. If WWE is his landing spot, how do they handle one of the greatest wrestlers of all time? Kazuchika Okada in NXT would be a mistake There have already been reports circulating about what might happen if Kazuchika Okada arrives in WWE. We know that a Royal Rum...

Eddie Kingston & Matt Menard: Powerful Promos of Pure Emotion

While many fans praise AEW for the high quality wrestling they've produced since bursting onto the scene, the real revelation within the company has been in their storytelling. Tony Khan has been far from perfect as an owner and creative leader for the company, but he's done one crucial thing: get out of the performer's way. AEW is fresh off the latest Blood & Guts Match, and it once again delivered the carnage that fans expect from the revival of WCW's WarGames in all but name. The match itself hinged mostly on the animosity between Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston with each bringing everything they could, but it wasn't just the physical action that left a lasting impression. Before the match ever took place, Eddie Kingston used his greatest strength to guarantee that fans under...

AEW booking makes their Pride Month message ring hollow

With the arrival of Pride Month, it's no surprise that AEW has joined in on the rainbow capitalism wave with a video highlighting their inclusion and a few one-off merchandising steps. Unfortunately, their message rings hollow when their booking of queer talents is given even the slightest bit of scrutiny. The video itself, which can be seen below, featured more than 25 different AEW talents including wrestlers, referees, and managers. Of those, only five are out members of the LGBTQ community, and they've had varying levels of success in actually getting onto AEW television. https://twitter.com/AEWonTV/status/1532040743765823488?s=20&t=_ImM2SIut1MAqn2yyYHzWw While All Elite Wrestling does utilize some talents more on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, these are YouTube exclusiv...

Enjoy Striking Distance presents the next chapter of Moriarty vs Lockhart

Enjoy Wrestling is ready to present the midpoint in Enjoy Striking Distance, and we've got two absolute gems with eight of the best in-ring competitors today as things build towards next week's season finale. Last week, Enjoy Striking Distance presented two amazing clashes as things opened up with 8-Person Tag Team anarchy as Ziggy Haim was able to lead David Lawless and The Runway (Calvin Couture and Tyler Klein) to victory over Joseline Navarro, Mikey Montgomery, Shea McCoy, and Veda Scott. As great of a start as the show got off to, it all led to the debut episode's climax where we saw a true queer wrestling dream match between Sonny Kiss and EFFY. It was one of the best showcases Sonny Kiss has gotten in months, as AEW still seems incapable of putting her on our television screen...

Watch Dark Sheik help Lita train for her in-ring return against Becky Lynch

We haven't had the privilege of watching Lita compete in a singles match for more than 15 years, but that's finally about to change as she's set to make her in-ring return to active competition against Becky Lynch. With this challenge in mind, we've now learned Lita looked to Dark Sheik and several Hoodslam cornerstones in Oakland, California to prepare. Lita's retirement match took place back at WWE Survivor Series 2006 where she walked into the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia as the reigning WWE Women's Champion. After a strong final showing, it was Mickie James who took the win and the title as Lita moved towards a life away from wrestling. She did have a few appearances in the following years, including two multi-person match appearances on the independent circuit and a one-off w...

Vince McMahon thinks WWE talent are not actors, because he doesn’t know what words mean

Another day, another piece of evidence that Vince McMahon is losing grip on the very basic definitions that form the foundation of the industry he claims to lead. With Vince McMahon being a coward at heart who isn't willing to speak to anyone on he record, we continue to learn of his presence behind the scenes through the words of others. The latest tidbit comes via Fightful Select as they recently spoke to former WWE NXT coach Scott Garland, better known to most fans as Scotty 2 Hotty. In the interview, Garland discussed the lack of communication behind the scenes as NXT shifted to their NXT 2.0 era. While the changes since the implementation of NXT 2.0 have gotten some positive reactions from many fans, Garland noticed several key changes like the departure of Adam Cole that none o...

This Sunday, Game Changer Wrestling prepares to make history inside Hammerstein Ballroom as they present The Wrld on GCW. As an already exciting night draws near, we're getting a clearer picture of exactly which matches will take center stage as GCW goes live on pay-per-view.
