Becky Lynch’s role at Survivor Series

Details

According to PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, Becky Lynch is likely the final babyface member to help Bianca Belair at WWE Survivor Series 2023 inside WarGames.

Analysis

The women’s WarGames match has all the ingredients to be a show-stealer following Kairi Sane’s return and Asuka’s awesome heel turn on the Nov. 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Survivor Series needs Becky Lynch, who had one of the greatest moments in the last 10 years of the build to the PLE, even if that injury took her out of the show itself. Becky and Bianca have quite the history together as former SummerSlam and WrestleMania rivals, so their dynamic inside WarGames will make this match even more special.

Why CM Punk could join WWE

Details

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are three things that could change WWE’s mind about bringing back CM Punk. If the fans vocally show they want him, if WWE believe AEW are vulnerable enough that a Punk hire would devastate them business-wise, or if they themselves need the economic boost a Punk signing would bring.

Analysis

All of these conditions seem like they could be realistically met within the year, if not sooner. Think about it, fans love nostalgia and the vast majority of fans would be interested in a CM Punk return – if nothing else for the drama it could bring. AEW isn’t doing as poorly as some WWE fans are gleefully proclaiming, but they haven’t exactly been strong competition for WWE; they can’t even definitively exceed NXT. Meanwhile, WWE have never been averse to making money or boosting their own stock. The Punk allure may very well be strong in the highest offices of Endeavor.

Drew McIntyre could join the Judgment Day at Survivor Series

Details

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, WWE is considering adding Drew McIntyre to the Judgment Day team for the Survivor Series Men’s WarGames match.

Analysis

McIntyre’s contract situation has been one of the big news stories behind the scenes in WWE this year. The Survivor Series WarGames matches have helped inject new life into the PLE, and while McIntyre doesn’t initially seem like a fit for the Judgment Day, this could lead to an interesting dynamic, especially since a fifth man would need to be added on the other side of the coin. Right now, it is the Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh) vs. Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso.

Is Sarray returning to WWE?

Details

Per Fightful Select, WWE had left open the possibility of a Sarray reunion.

Analysis

The Sarray rumors come at an interesting time, as WWE are reportedly considering bringing in some wrestlers to form a faction with Kairi Sane, who made her own return at Crown Jewel. That said, since then, Sarray has signed a multi-year deal with Sukeban, seemingly taking her off the table for WWE. But you never know what could be in store in pro wrestling, so file away this rumor in the back of your mind.

Will CM Punk be at Survivor Series?

Details

Fightful Select reported in October that CM Punk actually reached out to WWE to gauge their interest following his exit from AEW. However, representatives of WWE relayed that they have not been in discussions with the Second City Saint.

Analysis

CM Punk to WWE rumors have been all the rage with Survivor Series in Chicago. As we saw with the likes of Edge, where there is smoke, there is fire. A Punk return isn’t something to get your hopes up for, but there’s enough about the rumblings that make it seem as if it is possible. And remember this: If WWE really were going to make a big splash by bringing back Punk, why would they leak that info? Of course they would deny it to reporters. Here’s what we think is the key to any CM Punk reunion.

Will Roman Reigns be at Survivor Series?

Details

Per the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, Roman Reigns isn’t scheduled for a match after Survivor Series. He’s not even scheduled for a match at a Premium Live Event until the Royal Rumble.

Analysis

Reigns is on that part-time schedule as the very top champion in WWE, with Seth Rollins being the workhorse men’s world champion. It works, because Reigns doesn’t need to be exposed too much, especially with the Bloodline storyline and shaky finishes wearing thin on many fans. There’s plenty of talent on the card to make things work, as Jimmy and Jey have become major singles stars in their own rights.

When is Randy Orton returning from injury?

Details

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, WWE is planning for Randy Orton to return by Survivor Series.

Analysis

Orton has been out for more than a year with a career-threatening back injury, but The Viper has shown no interest in hanging up his boots. He has been working hard to get back in the ring while still following every doctors’ precaution. Orton has taken his health extremely seriously over the years in order to keep wrestling at the highest level. WWE fans are itching to “pop” when he does return, and it seems like it’s any day now that we will see the Apex Predator back in his natural habitat.
