WWE NXT New Years Evil 2026 Predictions: Blake Monroe Will Expose Thea Hail

WWE NXT is scheduled to take place on January 6, 2026, live on CW Network, at the WWE Performance Center, and Blake Monroe will expose Thea Hail to win her title back. On this week’s episode, four matches have been officially scheduled: Oba Femi (c) vs. Leon Slater for the NXT Title, Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Kendal Grey for the NXT Title, Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame in a Personal Rivalry Match, and Blake Monroe (c) vs. Thea Hail for the NXT North American Title, For all the fans who want memes and clownery for pro wrestling shows, they are in the right place. Without further ado, here are the official NXT Predictions for Jan 6, 2026.

Oba Femi (c) vs. Leon Slater [NXT Championship]

Oba Femi should have been battling Je’Von Evans, who won the original Iron Survivor Challenge and would have been a more serious threat to the title. However, WWE decided to cash in Evans’ title shot early in order to spark a heel turn and feud with Ricky Saints, who should have never lost the NXT Title in the first place.

Femi is long overdue for a call up to the main roster, and handing the NXT Title back to him was a waste of time. On top of that, no one in NXT is a legitimate threat to his title reign, so they’re essentially holding him hostage on a show that he has outgrown. Leon Slater is not a threat. The only threats are Ricky Saints and Tony D.

Prediction: Oba Femi

Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Kendal Grey [NXT Championship]

Jacy Jayne is a paper champion for NXT, and she belongs in the mid card vortex at best. WWE has superstars like Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe right there, and they’re wasting their time in the mid card when they’re the real main event players. The entire booking of this women’s division is logically backwards.

Kendal Grey is a great talent and is the Iron Survivor this year. She is definitely deserving to be at the top of the card, as she has impressed both the fans and the administration quite quickly with her finesse in the ring and her assertiveness on the microphone. However, it is too early for her to win the top prize.

Prediction: Jacy Jayne

Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame [Personal Rivalry Match]

Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame have had the best feud in NXT this year. Their feud has that genuine feel to it, and the fans can resonate with that. Izzi Dame already won the first match to solidify her heel turn, so Paxley will definitely win the second match to get her revenge, tie up the score, and stretch this out into a trilogy.

The typical motif pertaining to close partnerships breaking up seems to be the idea here. Dame screwed Paxley out of her first world title run and betrayed her trust as a friend. Now, Paxley is the face who wants her revenge and comeuppance for the dastardly deed Dame committed. Paxley will inevitably win this feud for the payoff.

Prediction: Tatum Paxley

Thea Hail (c) vs. Blake Monroe [NXT North American Championship]

The biggest botch in NXT history occurred when Thea Hail legitimately pinned Blake Monroe for the three count to win the NXT North American Title when she was not even the original plan to win the match. There has been some controversial debates all across the IWC regarding this incident. WWE can go two ways with this.

WWE can either run with their mistake and continue the title reign for Hail, improvising that they always wanted that direction, or they can go back to the original plan by putting the title back on Blake Monroe. WWE will likely go for the safer option even though Hail fits well as champ and Monroe should be in the main event scene.

Prediction: Blake Monroe
