Enjoy Wrestling is finally set to return for their next season with Enjoy Striking Distance, and they’re kicking things off with an episode featuring a first-time matchup between two queer wrestling icons and a chaotic tag match featuring some of Enjoy’s cornerstone talents.
Despite having been on the scene for less than a year at this point, Enjoy Wrestling has made their mark by highlighting some of the best talents on the independent scene through high-quality and inclusive events. They kicked things off with Enjoy Canned Heat in early 2021, which ran for two seasons before we got to see Enjoy Night Moves later in the year.
Before we get to the epic match that will main event Episode 1 of Enjoy Striking Distance, things are expected to kick off with an utterly chaotic 8-Person Tag Team Match. The Runway (Calvin Couture and Tyler Klein) pair up with David Lawless and Ziggy Haim to take on the quartet of Joseline Navarro, Mikey Montgomery, Shea McCoy, and Veda Scott.

Ziggy Haim is likely walking into this contest with the biggest chip on her shoulder, as Haim took on Edith Surreal in a Hair vs. Mask Match back at Enjoy Night Moves. If you haven’t witnessed the carnage they were willing to put each other through, make sure to go back and check out that episode at this link.
When the dust finally cleared, it was Edith Surreal who reigned victorious. Haim will be looking to make a statement, but with so many standout names in this match there’s no telling how the action could unfold.
That will set the tone and stage for the night’s main event, as Sonny Kiss will square off with EFFY for the first time ever. It’s a queer wrestling dream match that many may be surprised hasn’t happened before now, but the wait is almost over.

EFFY is still recovering from his unfortunate defeat to some unemployed Johnny Cash cosplayer at The Wrld on GCW, though he followed it up just a few weeks later by toppling reigning New Texas Pro Wrestling Champion Bryan Keith in a non-title bout at GCW vs. Loko Fight Club 2 in Houston.
However, it’s important to note that this event was filmed prior to that show, so all the Padawan EFFY Variant lovers will have to enjoy a time-bending retro version for Enjoy Striking Distance.
Meanwhile, Sonny Kiss hasn’t seen much independent wrestling action as of late, keeping her focus on AEW and consistently impressive showings on AEW Dark. Sonny Kiss most recently picked up a win against Ashton Starr, helping him chart a path towards a winning AEW record in 2022.
While this clash at Enjoy Striking Distance won’t affect that record, Sonny Kiss will undoubtedly be able to make a statement in her biggest match since falling to Joey Janela in an epic No Disqualification Match on AEW Dark at the end of 2021.
