Jade Cargill appears to be bound for WWE after a highly successful stint in AEW, the world’s fastest-growing promotion, to begin her professional wrestling career.
Despite her relative lack of experience, Cargill was immediately one of the promotion’s most engaging performers, racking up an undefeated streak and needing mere minutes on the screen to feel like appointment television on shows that, quite frankly, still lack wrestlers with that kind of presence.
Her style seems to be perfect for WWE, as she has already mastered the entertainment aspect of wrestling, which is, whether you like to admit it or not, the most important thing in an industry driven around putting butts in seats.
And who in their right mind doesn’t want to watch Cargill verbally and physically eviscerate her opponents?
There are so many incredible options for Jade Cargill to face in WWE, so narrowing it down to five isn’t easy. Here are some dream opponents for the former AEW powerhouse once she gets to the world’s largest wrestling promotion.
Becky Lynch
There may not be a bigger dream opponent in WWE for Jade Cargill than Becky Lynch, who reached the summit of the industry in 2018 and 2019 during her rise as “The Man”.
Becky won the first all-women’s WrestleMania main event, taking down two titans in Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.
Thereafter, Becky has more than maintained her appeal, putting on fantastic feuds with the likes of Mercedes Moné and, most recently, Trish Stratus.
The current NXT Women’s Champion, Becky should be saved as an opponent for Cargill until a big venue like SummerSlam and WrestleMania.
Forget just having a title match for the ages. Cargill and Lynch would have promos that could be replayed for years and years to come.
Rhea Ripley
Powerhouse battles are some of the best matches in wrestling, especially when they involve explosive athletes who can add speed to their strength.
Rhea Ripley just might be the most exciting pro wrestler in the world right now, ever since joining the Judgment Day and grabbing even more spotlight.
Another prodigy of pro wrestling who needed nearly no time at all to become a big star, Ripley has grown so much on the mic. She is now one of the best talkers in the industry.
Ripley and Cargill would be appointment television. They could have a “fight forever” feud that lasts throughout an entire season of the calendar year, whether that’s in the summer or the doldrums between SummerSlam and WrestleMania.
Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair is one of the best babyfaces WWE has produced in the last five years, and she, likewise, needed very little time in the industry to establish herself as a legitimate top star.
There may not be a more celebrated WrestleMania wrestler on the current roster than Belair, save for maybe perennial main eventer Roman Reigns.
Jade Cargill vs. Bianca Belair has “WrestleMania’ written all over it. These two top performers could create a layered feud that peaks into a lengthy masterpiece in the ring. As with Becky vs. Jade, a match with Bianca also needs to be saved.
Sonya Deville
Although Sonya Deville may not jump off the page as much as a Bayley, Asuka, or Trish Stratus, a match between Deville and Cargill should not be overlooked as a dream bout for wrestling fans.
Deville is in the conversation for being one of the most underrated performers in all of pro wrestling, even though she has the spotlight of WWE on her.
Currently out with a torn ACL, Deville is another brilliant future feud for Cargill on the mic and in the ring.
Neither wrestler holds back verbally or physically, so this could be a real hard-striking, punishing match that brings out the best in both performers. When Deville returns, she could use more of a spotlight.
Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair may divide opinion, but there is no questioning her status in the biggest matches. The Queen always delivers in the spotlight, and a match with Jade Cargill is the definition of a marquee fight.
Cargill and Flair are two of the best athletes in the industry, and while Charlotte’s mic skills are often panned by the “smarks”, she can absolutely bring the heat when paired with the right opponent.
There’s no doubt that Cargill can push the right buttons on the mic, and that can coax the very best of Flair in promos. In the ring, we don’t even need to discuss how amazing this match could be.
Like with Ripley vs. Cargill, Charlotte and Jade are two elite athletes who can bring speed, power, and viciousness in a match. Their feud could crescendo into a stipulation match. Imagine Charlotte vs. Jade inside Hell in a Cell. Goosebumps.
