Liv Morgan’s journey to becoming a world champion in WWE

There are so many things I love about professional wrestling, but I don't think anything tops watching a babyface get their moment. The weeks - months, really - leading to the big win are filled with uncertainty. Are we actually going to see this happen? Or is the rug going to be pulled out from underneath them just like last year? Liv Morgan has been able to get fans behind her for years. In 2019, a lot of fans started pinpointing her as a future world champion, taking note of how rapidly she had improved while with the Riott Squad. I believe there are fans who underestimate the impact Liv had in 2018 and 2019. Raw was in a rough spot in 2018. There wasn't a full-time men's champion, with Brock Lesnar effectively holding the title hostage. And the Women's Division, as usual, was lef...

AEW booking makes their Pride Month message ring hollow

With the arrival of Pride Month, it's no surprise that AEW has joined in on the rainbow capitalism wave with a video highlighting their inclusion and a few one-off merchandising steps. Unfortunately, their message rings hollow when their booking of queer talents is given even the slightest bit of scrutiny. The video itself, which can be seen below, featured more than 25 different AEW talents including wrestlers, referees, and managers. Of those, only five are out members of the LGBTQ community, and they've had varying levels of success in actually getting onto AEW television. https://twitter.com/AEWonTV/status/1532040743765823488?s=20&t=_ImM2SIut1MAqn2yyYHzWw While All Elite Wrestling does utilize some talents more on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, these are YouTube exclusiv...

VENY vs Edith Surreal to main event WrestleQueerdom, more trans and non-binary talents announced

While the event is still over two months away, excitement continues to grow for WrestleQueerdom with more and more talents being announced. The first of its kind event is set to take place in The Hampshire Dome, and it will turn the spotlight towards trans and non-binary talents of the past, present, and future. The event, promoted and hosted by TransGraps, is set for 7pm ET on Saturday, August 6, 2022, and the domed venue in Milford, New Hampshire can host as many as 3,000 attendees. VENY vs Edith Surreal set for historic main event More is still to be revealed about WrestleQueerdom, but one thing we already know for sure is that the main event is set with VENY making her United States debut. VENY, also known in her career as ASUKA, is a trailblazer as an openly trans wrestler ...

Wes Lee positioned to break out as a singles star on NXT

When MSK first debuted in the then Black & Gold version of NXT, many, including myself, were excited to see the team formerly known as The Rascalz in WWE (even minus a member). Wes Lee (Dez or Desmond Xavier) was, to me, always the standout between he and Nash Carter (Wentz or Zachary Wentz), and now he finally has an opportunity to set his mark as a singles star. However, let's first revisit MSK's (and Lee's) journey in NXT since debuting in January 2021. MSK's arrival, rise, and fall in NXT and 2.0 MSK - comprised of Lee and the recently released Carter - found immediate success: they won the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day. They then won the (vacant) NXT Tag Team Championship for the first time in a triple threat match against their Dusty Classic ...

Vince McMahon thinks WWE talent are not actors, because he doesn’t know what words mean

Another day, another piece of evidence that Vince McMahon is losing grip on the very basic definitions that form the foundation of the industry he claims to lead. With Vince McMahon being a coward at heart who isn't willing to speak to anyone on he record, we continue to learn of his presence behind the scenes through the words of others. The latest tidbit comes via Fightful Select as they recently spoke to former WWE NXT coach Scott Garland, better known to most fans as Scotty 2 Hotty. In the interview, Garland discussed the lack of communication behind the scenes as NXT shifted to their NXT 2.0 era. While the changes since the implementation of NXT 2.0 have gotten some positive reactions from many fans, Garland noticed several key changes like the departure of Adam Cole that none o...
