AEW Worlds End 2023 Predictions! AEW Worlds End should truly be an epic PPV for AEW this year.
Although there are plenty of contrived storylines being built for this event, there are some potential show-stealing matches on this card that will be thrilling to watch.
The most featured storyline is MJF’s interesting dilemma with The Devil, who could very well be his best friend, Adam Cole.
As the old adage goes, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Toni Storm is gaining some traction with her ‘timeless’ Marilyn Monroe-Inspired gimmick as the AEW World Women’s Champion.
Edge’s rivalry with Christian Cage is also getting more personal as the weeks go by whilst they propel Sting’s retirement tour. The Continental Classic Finals will take place at this event too.
The following will provide match card predictions for the three matches that are already scheduled and some other matches that could be added at the last minute. Without further ado, here are the full match card predictions for AEW Worlds End 2023.
AEW Worlds End 2023 will take place on December 30, 2023, at 8 pm, E.S.T., live on PPV. Here are the full match card predictions.
Ricky Starks & Big Billy (c) vs. Chris Jericho & Hangman Adam Page [AEW World Tag Team Titles]
Originally, this match was scheduled to be Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c) vs. Golden Jets. However, it has recently been reported that Kenny Omega has diverticulitis and will be out of action indefinitely.
This means that Chris Jericho has to find a new tag partner to replace Kenny Omega.
Hangman Adam Page would fit the bill here, as he is not only in the same faction with Kenny Omega but he also partook in the first ever AEW World Title match on PPV against Chris Jericho back at AEW All In 2019.
Hangman has been involved in the MJF Devil storyline, but he is the best replacement here due to this emergency situation.
If not, there’s always Big Show/Paul Wight, who has a ton of history with Jericho. Either way, Starks and Bill are losing the titles here.
Prediction: Golden Cowboys
Julia Hart (c) vs. Kris Statlander [AEW TBS Championship]
Julia Hart just won the belt at AEW Full Gear, so it would make no sense for her to lose the title in her first PPV title defense, especially against the superstar she dethroned in the first place.
This is merely a rematch clause for Statlander as she puts Julia Hart over and helps Hart solidify her reign. Statlander will have to regain her momentum in non-title feuds to build up her momentum in the main event scene.
The superstar with the best storyline to dethrone Julia Hart would be Skye Blue, who teased a grotesque alliance with her recently. Like Ruby Soho in 2021, she has already lost too many title matches and her stock is dropping.
The fans love her, her character work has been stellar, and she has been long overdue for a title run, so she should not be overlooked here by AEW.
.Prediction: Julia Hart
Miro vs. Andrade El Idolo (w/CJ Perry) [Personal Feud]
Miro will defeat Andrade El Idolo in what has been quite a personal feud involving CJ Perry. Many fans expected CJ Perry, Miro’s wife, to be in Miro’s corner like old times, but AEW has swerved everyone by making Andrade one of CJ Perry’s clients.
It seems that every client CJ Perry has will ironically be built to take down Miro.
Nonetheless, Miro will defy the odds, as it seems that these feuds are booked to help him regain his momentum and get back in the title picture.
It looks like he will have to play a game of Survivor on that long-winded journey to championship gold because Dolph Ziggler is actually expected to debut in AEW as one of CJ Perry’s clients, who could very well be Miro’s next victim after he takes down Andarde.
It is likely that Ziggler will attack Miro after this match.
Prediction: Miro
Christian Cage (c) vs. Adam Copeland [AEW TNT Championship]
Adam Copeland will dethrone Christian Cage to become the new AEW TNT Champion. The story writes itself, as Luchasurus and Nick Wayne will betray Christian Cage here, just like Adam Copeland predicted.
The TNT Championship has gotten a lot of flack in 2023 due to it being meaninglessly hot potatoed and/or flip flopped amongst a plethora of competitors.
However, Christian Cage, who did not really need the TNT Championship, has bright some prestige back to the championship by bringing storyline back to TNT title feuds.
It is likely that will continue with Adam Copeland when he wins the title and elevates the roster in a reign that many fans will remember. Once Adam loses the title and puts someone else over, the end goal will still be to win the tag titles with Christian.
Prediction: Adam Copeland
House of Black vs. Blackpool Combat Club [Faction War]
House of Black will defeat Blackpool Combat Club because they have been teasing this feud for months with random lights out attacks but never capitalized on it on PPV.
As former trios champions, they need to regain momentum here after losing those belts. Also, Malakai Black teased dethroning Orange Cassidy earlier in 2023 and never wrapped up that storyline.
Now that Moxley is presumably out of the AEW international Title picture after losing to Cassidy at Full Gear, Malakai Black can use this victory to get back in the title picture.
As for Buddy Matthews and Brody King, they can get back in the tag title scene and redeem themselves from failing to win tag gold at Full Gear. House of Black is a compelling faction in AEW and should be in good hands going forward.
Prediction: House of Black
Bryan Danielson vs. Swerve Stricklend [AEW Continental Classic Finals]
Swerve Stricklend will win the AEW Continental Classic Finals to become a Triple Crown Champion to solidify his momentum from defeating former world champion, Hangman Adam Page, twice at both AEW WrestleDream and AEW Full Gear respectively.
Many fans were disappointed that he lost to Jon Moxley at Winter is Coming, but that loss was planted to set up redemption for Swerve when he defeats Moxley in the semifinals to become the Gold League Champion and moves on to defeat Moxley’s BCC brethren, Bryan Danielson, from the Blue League to win the entire tournament.
Swerve has put in a lot of compelling work in his character as well as his matches in the ring to the point that not putting a championship as prestigious as this one on him now would be a mistake.
Prediction: Swerve Stricklend
Toni Storm (c) vs. Riho [AEW World Championship]
Toni Storm just won the belt at AEW Full Gear, so it would make no sense for her to lose the title in her first PPV title defense, especially against the first AEW Women’s Champion who is being utilized in this title match to help solidify Storm’s reign.
Riho seems to be on a mission to take down every member of The Outcasts after they attacked her months ago, but Riho’s journey as number one contender is a but rushed and does not warrant a title victory.
Storm has done a lot of compelling work with her Marilyn Monroe character and should have a long reign with the title… longer than her first two reigns.
She will hold the belt until Jamie Hayter returns to reclaim her throne, but Storm also has Saraya and Thunder Rosa to deal with before then. She has a lot of targets on her back.
Prediction: Toni Storm
MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe [AEW World Championship]
MJF will retain the AEW World Title against Samoa Joe in his hometown of Long Island, NY because the bidding wars in 2024 will keep MJF in AEW for the foreseeable future.
He is the face of that brand, and AEW would be stupid to let their biggest asset go. WWE has enough talent to keep things interesting, especially with CM Punk over there.
There needs to be a sufficient balance in the pro wrestling world so that competition and incentivization for better storytelling and audience engagement remains high.
After this match, Adam Cole will be revealed as the Devil. He was very suspicious at AEW Full Gear, and it seems that this injury angle was pulled to set up Cole to dethrone MJF in 2024.
MJF has to deal with Wardlow and possibly Hangman Adam Page before then.
However, it seems that the bigger story here is that Adam Cole had to become the devil to take down the devil himself, MJF. As the old adage goes, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Adam Cole and MJF are best friends no more.
Prediction: MJF
