AEW Grand Slam 2023 Predictions! AEW Grand Slam should truly be an epic Dynamite Special for AEW this year. Although there are plenty of contrived storylines being built for this event, there are some potential show-stealing matches on this card that will be thrilling to watch. The most featured storylines are the bromance between Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, which should open the show, as well as the dream title feud between MJF and Samoa Joe, which should main event the show.
The following will provide match card predictions for the five matches that are already scheduled, as of this writing. Without further ado, here are the full rapid fire match card predictions for AEW Grand Slam 2023.

Chris Jericho vs. Sammy Guevara [Best Friends Collide]
Chris Jericho will defeat Sammy Guevara in this J.A.S. feud because Jericho still needs to redeem himself from his two consecutive losses to Adam Cole and Will Ospreay and maintain his credibility as a former world champion as a result. Sammy won’t get his big win over Jericho until after they win the tag titles together in what should be a compelling trilogy to close off 2023. There’s also a possibility that Guevara goes on paternity leave with Tay Conti, so a victory for him here would be needless, to say the least.
It is understandable that Guevara should get elevated by the veteran here, but the slow burn will help him out in the long run, as Guevara needs to respect his leader in this foreseeable tag team.
Prediction: Chris Jericho
Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Eddie Kingston (c) [Title for Title]
Eddie Kingston will defeat Claudio Castagnoli to merge the titles because he still needs revenge from getting his moment stolen from him at Blood and Guts in 2022. At that event, Eddie Kingston had Jericho in a submission whilst Claudio had Matt Jackson in a submission. Matt Jackson tapped out to Claudio before Jericho had an opportunity to tap out to Kingston. Although Kingston won the match with BCC, he was still upset that his spotlight was taken away from Claudio, as he really wanted to make Jericho tap.
Since they are in Eddie Kingston’s hometown at this event, now is a good time for him to get his payback, and Claudio can easily target the tag titles with Wheeler Yuta as a consolation prize.

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Rey Fenix [AEW International Championship]
Jon Moxley will defeat Rey Fenix to retain the AEW International Championship due to recency bias. He legitimately just won the belt a few weeks ago from Orange Cassidy at AEW All Out. It would delegitimatize the championship that Cassidy made prestigious as well as tarnish the credibility of former world champion, Jon Moxley, if he lost to a challenger like Rey Fenix, who was merely thrown into this title match with very little momentum, credibility, and story.
This is very likely the easiest prediction of the night, as Moxley will hold that championship all the way to the end of 2023 with no major threats until AEW Full Gear in November.

Saraya (c) vs. Toni Storm [AEW Women’s Championship]
Saraya will defeat Toni Storm to retain the AEW Women’s Championship, also due to recency bias. She legitimately just won the belt a few weeks ago from Hikaru Shida at AEW All In, and Storm won’t win the title back so soon after losing it on the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite this year. However, this title match actually has a storyline because it has a lot to do with dissension in The Outcasts. It seems like this match will determine the true leader of Outcasts, and they’ll both move on in their own separate paths.
There are only three major threats to Saraya’s title reign: (1) Britt Baker, (2) Jamie Hayter, and (3) Mercedes Mone. Baker can always bring things back full circle at Full Gear 2023 from the first time she battled Saraya at Full Gear 2022 last year. Hayter can return from injury to win her title back and avenge Saraya for screwing her over at Double or Nothing. And lastly, Mercedes Mone, who was in Saraya’s last match before getting injured in WWE, could bring that moment into a storyline for her AEW Debut.
Prediction: Saraya
MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe [AEW World Championship]
MJF will defeat Samoe Joe to retain the AEW World Championship not only because he is the greatest AEW World Champion of all time who should only lose on PPV but also because Joe is coming off a loss to CM Punk and does not have sufficient momentum to become world champion right now. Besides, as great as he is, Joe already has a ROH Championship and does not really need two singles belts. Granted, MJF still has the ROH Tag Titles with Adam Cole, with whom he still has unfinished business.
MJF will lose the ROH Tag Titles before losing the world title and that should lead to him losing the title to Cole at Full Gear after wrongfully betraying him so that Cole can get his huge babyface payoff.
