WWE MITB will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026. The Money in the Bank Briefcase is won in a brutal ladder match that leaves many wrestlers hurt and possibly injured. However, the high risk is worth the high reward because winning that contract guarantees a future world title shot anytime anyplace. This is usually a grandiose opportunity for stars who are stuck in the mid card vortex and want the spotlight in the main event scene.
The World Champ could be in a vulnerable position after defending the title like a fighting champ and still be cashed in on by the MITB Briefcase holder. That briefcase holds a lot of power in the WWE and is usually used more wisely by strategic heels who could capture a championship that seemed far outside their grasps. Babyfaces like John Cena, tend to use it too honorably, which defeats the advantageous purpose of MITB. Here are some very early predictions for the MITB Winners this year.
Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Betting Favorite: Dirty Dom
Runner Up: LA Knight
Dark Horse: Sami Zayn
Now that Dominick Mysterio lost the IC Title to Penta, it seems like the perfect time for him to advance to the main event scene. The Money In The Bank Contract would be his ticket to that World Heavyweight Title. Also, it fits his gimmick like a glove. The MITB Briefcase is always best held by the sneaky heels with tricks up their sleeve. Dom has nefariously won his matches ever since betraying his father and joining the Judgment Day, as he lies, cheats, and steals his way to the top.
LA Knight has been the runner up for the MITB Ladder Match way too many times in the past few years. He was finger tups away from winning MITB in 2023 when Damian Priest won it, in 2024 when Drew McIntyre won it, and in 2025 when Seth Rollins won it. He can’t choke again or else the fans will stop taking him seriously. For someone who is unchosen by administrative powers but popularized by the fans, his victory in this match and journey to the world championship are long overdue.
Sami Zayn is an unsung champ, impeccable storyteller, and master of his craft. He even made The Bloodline more entertaining with his quick wit and relatable persona. During his singles run, he developed his own character as the one who does not need to turn heel, sell his soul, or perform an immoral deed to win the top prize. However, he always chokes when he is in a world title match, as he did against Reigns and McIntyre. The MITB Contract should guarantee he does not choke again.
Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Betting Favorite: Roxanne Perez
Runner Up: Chelsea Green
Dark Horse: Lyra Valkyria
Roxanne Perez has been treated as a “hand” in killer matches with top stars. The only big accomplishment she had so far was being tag team champs with Raquel Rodriguez in the Judgment Day, and the only reason she had that title was because Liv Morgan got injured. If Liv Morgan dethrones Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42, it would even be cool to tease a Roxanne MITB Cash-In on Liv to capitalize on the love triangle with Dom and follow through on dissension in the Judgment Day.
Although Chelsea Green is seen as mostly a comedic wrestler, she is a workhorse who makes the most of the minimal time she is granted on television to entertain the fans both in the ring and on the microphone. She was finger tips away from winning MITB in her home country of Canada in 2024 when Tiffany Stratton won it. Since she is a chickenshit heel who already became a two-time U.S. Champ and works like a World Champion, the MITB Contract is her key to the main event scene.
Lyra Valkyria seemed like she had a promising push off the gates as the inaugural IC Champ on the main roster. When she lost the IC Title, it felt that she should have moved up to the main event scene as a graduation from the mid card. However, WWE relegated her to the tag division with Bayley, which felt like a downgrade rather than a consolation prize, especially after not being on PPV since July, despite their compelling work as a team. MITB would be a good way for her to get back on track.
