AEW Dynamite Predictions: MJF Will Reveal A Major Controversial Secret About Tony Khan

AEW Dynamite is scheduled to take place on January 28, 2026, live on TBS Network, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in Cedar Park, Texas, and MJF will reveal a major controversial secret about Tony Khan in the main event. There has been speculation online about Tony Khan using bots to influence media narratives about AEW and WWE. MJF will likely target this narrative to garner some controversial heel heat and solidify his belief that Khan is still a fan who belongs behind the guardrails.

AEW has scheduled six blockbuster matches for the card on this episode: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Thekla for the AEW World Title, Kenny Omega vs. Rocky Romero, Mark Briscoe (c) vs. El Klon for the AEW TNT Title, Jon Moxley (c) vs. Ace Austin for the Continental Classic Eliminator, FTR (c) vs. Davis & Doyle for the AEW Tag Titles, and Swerve Strickland vs. Andrade El Idolo in an Exhibition Match. Without further ado, here are the official AEW Dynamite Predictions.

Kris Statlander (c) vs. Thekla [AEW World Title]

Thekla earned this title opportunity after she and Sisters of Sin defeated Statlander and Babes of Wrath at Maximum Carnage. Kris Statlander would more likely lose her title on a PPV than on a random Dynamite. Although AEW has booked swerve title changes for the women on past episodes, Statlander’s first reign as champ should not be treated in that same vein. Henceforth, Statlander should retain and drop the title to either Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, or a returning Britt Baker later in the year.

Prediction: Kris Statlander

Kenny Omega vs. Rocky Romero [Grudge Match]

Kenny Omega needs momentum for the AEW World Title. He already said that he plans on taking down MJF before Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland do so. Clearly, Rocky Romero is merely here to get fed to Omega. AEW is focused on building up a future triple threat number one contender’s match amongst Omega, Page, and Strickland to determine who is next for MJF at the next PPV. In the meantime, MJF will run through Brodido to keep the fans entertained.

Prediction: Kenny Omega

Mark Briscoe (c) vs. El Klon [AEW TNT Title]

Mark Briscoe is still in the early stages of his title run, and El Klon has no business dethroning him. Klon does not have a sufficient storyline reason to do so. He is merely a sidepiece in the Don Callis Family who earned this title shot through a fluke victory against Angelico on a random episode of Collision. To solidify his initiation in the family, Klon will have a strong showing here. However, Briscoe already ran through Hecichero, and he will run through the rest of the family like flies.

Prediction: Mark Briscoe

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Ace Austin [Continental Classic Eliminator]

Jon Moxley is running with this Continental Classic Championship until Darby Allin stops him and the Death Riders, so Ace Austin has no chance here. Many fans wonder when Moxley will actually take his originally scheduled vacation. However, it seems that his motor won’t stop running anytime soon. The confusing aspect of the Death Riders storyline is the fact that Moxley is a babyface while the rest of his faction is heel. This booking implementation ruined the dynamics of the story.

Prediction: Jon Moxley

FTR (c) vs. Davis & Doyle [AEW Tag Titles]

FTR is running with the tag team championships until Adam Copeland and Christian Cage return to get revenge for when FTR piledrived Beth Copeland on her head at AEW All Out in their home town of Toronto Ontario, Canada. Davis & Doyle surprisingly earned this title opportunity by defeating Young Bucks, Gates of Agony, and JetSpeed in a fatal four way tag title number one contender’s match. However, they have no chance at dethroning the champs here and are merely fodder for FTR.

Prediction: FTR

Swerve Strickland vs. Andrade El Idolo [Exhibition Match]

Kris Statlander vs. Thekla deserves to be the main event of the card, but this match between Swerve Strickland and Andrade El Idolo could very well steal the show. AEW could give Andrade a huge victory over Swerve Stricland to solidify his initiation and potential leadership in the Don Callis Family. However, it’s more important that Strickland wins here to get momentum for the future triple threat AEW World Title number one contender’s match against Kenny Omega and Adam Page.

Prediction: Swerve Strickland
